Music Together^® OUTSIDE 

 

Need some human to human contact with proper distancing?  Join us for our traditional 45-minute Music Together classes in the great outdoors!  Weather permitting, we will host classes for up to 24 human beings in the same location each week.  You and your family will sit on blankets, six feet apart from others; bring your own instruments and enjoy playing and singing and dancing and grooving while enjoying Music Together's collection of songs. Bad weather will bring us inside to zoom classes. Classes are appropriate for children 0 to 5. 

You will need to bring instruments from home: 

• Things to click:  spoons, pens, sticks 
• Things to drum:  a box, a book or drum
• Things to shake:  a tupperware filled with legos or beans, shaky eggs
• Things to wave:  a kitchen towel, scarf or small blanket
• A variety of instruments and soundmakers for playalong jams

Music Together INSIDE

 

You and your family will sit on blankets, six feet apart from others; bring your own instruments and enjoy playing and singing and dancing and grooving while enjoying Music Together's collection of songs.  All indoor classes require proof of vaccination for all adults (nannies, grandparents, every adult…) attending the class.  Teachers for indoor classes also provide proof of vaccination.  Mecklenburg County commissioners voted to end the county-wide indoor mask mandate starting February 26. But, because all our students are still ineligible for vaccines and are too young for masks, and because we are in a room with children who are not our own, we will continue to require masks for all adults. Surgical masks are preferred.

Music Together^® ONLINE 

 

Join your teacher for weekly online Music Together classes, where you will have access to the same high-quality music and movement curriculum loved by millions of families and teachers around the world - from your own home!  Like all our classes, Music Together Online is designed to teach the way young children learn, through play. During each online music class, Music Together teachers lead music activities for the whole family to sing, play, and jam along to and show you how to make everyday items like dish towels, pots, and wooden spoons into musical props. Even though your teacher is on the screen, each class has been designed as an ACTIVE music-making experience for little ones and their grownups.  Classes are appropriate for children 0 to 5, but the entire family is welcome (and encouraged!) to participate in the musical fun.  

It makes a HUGE difference if you and your child are seated on the floor together! Push the ottoman or coffee table aside and make space to sit, sing, play, and connect with your child.   Your child does not need to see the screen - as long as you can see your teacher and follow her lead, you’re good!

Note: No refunds or credits will be offered for missed classes or classes moved to online. Should the community health situation dictate that it is no longer safe to hold outdoor classes, all classes will be moved online to Zoom. No refunds or credits will be offered for those circumstances beyond our control.
